The UK-based coachbuilder Coventry Prototype Panels (otherwise known as CPP) has been on a buying spree, recently snatching up Bowler and the exotic car arm of Spyker. Now comes word that the company – owned by Vladamir Antonov – has added another automotive company to its growing portoflio. Rumor has it that CPP just purchased Italian design house Zagato.

Report: Lamborghini CEO Winkelmann confirms new “everyday” model line
Filed under Lamborghini, Super Cars 24-05-2011
The incorporation of Lamborghini into the Volkswagen Group has certainly done a lot for their drivability, but we wouldn’t exactly call a Gallardo or Aventador an “everyday supercar.” But according to reports quoting the company’s affable chief executive, Stephen Winkelmann, Sant’Agata Bolognese is set to add a new range of models to deliver exactly that. The Lamborghini CEO was speaking at a Reuters conference, where he declared that a third model line was under development – one that “has to be an everyday car.” Although he would not confirm in which segment the new car would compete, he did indicate that it would benefit from synergies within the VW Group. The declaration is being widely reported as confirmation of a production version of the Estoque concept, a sensational four-door show car that Lamborghini unveiled way back at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The Estoque’s production is tipped to share underpinnings with the next-generation Porsche Panamera, Audi A9 and a new Bentley four-door coupe.

Filed under Convertibles, Coupes, Others, Super Cars 22-03-2011
Koenigsegg certainly caught our attention when it unveiled the new Agera R at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month. With its Speed Racer paint scheme and 1,115 horsepower on tap, it darn well better have. But the exotic Swedish automaker has only now released the full specifications, and suffice it to say, they don’t disappoint. Read More »
Shayton Equilibrium: Would-be supercar one part Ferrari, one part Lotus
Filed under Super Cars 09-03-2011
The Shayton Equilibrium looks like it could be a whole barrel of fun. Or rather, it might be – if only it existed. For now, the Shayton remains a digital rendering only, but the Slovenian company is apparently toiling away at making the design a reality. Read More »
After taking a look at our high-res image gallery below, we were tempted to say the Pagani Huayra made its o-fish-ial web debut… but we won’t. Oh, wait.In any case, Pagani’s newest supercar can now be seen in all its glory, and we generally approve of the overall styling, despite the fact it’s got something of a bottom-feeder fascia up front. Moving past that, we see a pretty serious set of gullwing doors and enough slats, flares and strakes to fill the sketchbook of a Boeing designer. Read More »
Lamborghini to celebrate Italy with Tricolore edition Gallardo?
Filed under Coupes, Lamborghini, Others, Super Cars 17-12-2010
Two weeks ago reports began to surface that Lamborghini could be preparing to launch a new two-tone Bicolore edition of the Gallardo at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. But since the pace of the automotive industry is unrelenting, this week’s reports indicate that a Tricolore edition could be in the works, too.
So… a two-tone special followed by a three-tone one? We must have lost something in the translation here. And we almost did. Word has it that the second special-edition Gallardo will not be a three-tone model, but a Tricolore in the sense of the Italian flag. The country, you see, is preparing to celebrate 150 years of unification, a national milestone which Lamborghini very well might celebrate with a commemorative patriotic edition featuring the red, white and green.
Then again, it could just be a three-tone paint job. We’ll have to wait and see, with sources tipping the Tricolore edition’s launch to take place in Geneva in March.

We’ve showcased many of the major automakers’ one-off customizations specifically for the tuner crowd here at SEMA, but the vast majority of the show is populated by companies specializing in technology, performance upgrades, and of course, wheels. After all, when it comes to beautifully designed supercars, why mess with success by adding a body kit or even more power when you can personalize your go-fast machine with a set of unique, eye-catching wheels.
That said, the SEMA show is chocked full of companies who will sell you incomprehensible amounts of custom wheels, and we’ve pointed out cameras at a slew of supercars riding on modified rollers. See the lot in our high-res image gallery, below.
